FP Trading Adds UAE Regulatory Coverage with New CMA Licence

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, Aug. 21, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- FP Trading, an international forex and CFD brokerage, has confirmed that it now holds a Category 5 licence issued by the UAE's Capital Market Authority (CMA), formerly the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA), extending its regulatory footprint into the country on an onshore basis. The licence covers marketing, promotional, and client introduction activity within the UAE.

The company described the licence as a natural extension of its wider regional strategy, which has increasingly focused on establishing direct, locally regulated operations rather than serving markets purely from a distance. With the CMA licence now in place, FP Trading's UAE entity is able to promote its services and introduce clients to its regulated brokerage entities on the ground, within the scope of the Category 5 authorisation. Trade execution and the handling of client funds remain with the firm's existing regulated entities in other jurisdictions.

FP Trading pointed to the UAE's continued rise as a regional financial centre as one of the main factors behind the decision. Over recent years, the country has attracted a steady flow of brokers, fintech companies, and other financial services providers, many of whom have sought some form of onshore regulatory status to strengthen their standing with local clients. The company said obtaining the CMA licence was a deliberate step toward operating within that same framework, rather than relying solely on licences held in other markets.

The shift toward an onshore structure is intended to benefit both clients and partners in tangible ways, the company said. For clients, the licence sits alongside FP Trading's other regulatory approvals, contributing to a broader framework of oversight across the markets in which it operates. For partners, including introducing brokers and affiliates active in the region, a locally licensed presence is likely to translate into more responsive support, closer working relationships, and infrastructure based nearer to where those partners actually operate.

FP Trading also noted that this development did not happen in isolation, but reflects a longer-running approach of building out its regulatory base market by market, with the UAE representing one of the more significant additions to that footprint given the size and growth trajectory of the local trading community.

Commenting on the announcement, Narayan Joshi, General Manager of FP Trading, said: "Having this licence in place lets us work far more closely with our clients and partners in the UAE. It's a long-term commitment to the region, not a short-term move, and it fits into how we're building out our regulatory presence more broadly."

Looking ahead, the company intends to continue expanding its regulatory coverage in additional markets, positioning the UAE as an increasingly important part of its overall regional strategy. Further updates on its licensing and expansion plans are expected in the coming months, alongside continued investment in its trading infrastructure and client-facing support functions.
